The adult moths of this species are white with a green abdomen. The moths have a black dot in the middle of each forewing. The moths have a wingspan of about 5 cms.

This species has formerly been confused with Arctornis submarginata which is a species found over much of Indonesia, and was thought to have a range extending into Australia. However in 2016 Peter Mackey determined that the Australian specimens actually belonged to several new separate species: Arctornis lucens, Arctornis queenslandica, and Arctornis ravenshoeae.
