The adult moth of this species has yellow forewings, each of which have a grey-brown margin. The hindwings are brown. The head and thorax are yellow, although the thorax may have some variable brown marks. As with other Microbela species, the labial palps are shorter than those of other genera in the OECOPHORINAE. The wingspan is about 1.5 cms.

The species has been found in:

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory, and
  • Victoria.
